So I’m in the computer lab right trying to do homework but I keep getting distracted by this fun election toy from nytimes.com. If you’re feeling depressed by the election results distract yourself here (follow the link and click on “Electoral Explorer” on the left-hand side).

 

Here’s an example filtering the results by the current party. Here you can see that the democrats lost about 20% of their seats (as of 10:50 pm).

 

 

Here’s a map of the districts currently controlled by Republicans. This map is almost all red; in comparison to the Democrats, the Republicans gave up a paltry 1.5% of their seats (as of 10:59 pm).

 

There are tons of different demographics to filter by. Waste a little time, feel a little bit smarter.
